Deep Time Resonance
“Deep Time Resonance,” curated by Jimmy Peggie, is an immersive, meditative installation that invites visitors to step outside of human-scaled time and enter the slow, profound rhythms of the earth. In an era dominated by rapid digital acceleration and ecological uncertainty, this exhibition functions as a sanctuary of stillness, acoustic simplicity, and physical grounding.
The installation focuses on geological time - i.e. non-human dimensions of time. It centers on durational sound works, video projections and related art works. The installation treats earth not as a passive resource, but as an active archive of memory, erosion, and ancient life. The space becomes a place for contemplative presence. Visitors are encouraged to slow their breath, and reflect on our fleeting place within the cosmic timeline of the universe.
Deep time changes the meaning of a human life by shrinking our daily worries into a tiny speck, revealing both our profound fragility and our unexpected power as planetary change makers. It shifts our perspective from short-term survival to a vast, interconnected continuum.
